Welcome to the Transcription Tuesday Run!

Europeana Transcribathon 1914-1918 is an online crowdsourcing initiative for the transcription and annotation of unique, unpublished material related to World War One. The aim is to create a vast and fully digital record of the written stories in Europeana 1914-1918. But in order to achieve this, we need your help. Facilitated by our online tool, Transcribathon is an ongoing online challenge that allows members of the public to transcribe, annotate and geo-tag the hidden gems of the Europeana 1914-1918 collection. Through your contributions, you hold the key to unlocking new secrets of the First World War and safeguarding these stories for future generations.

Join us on Tuesday 23 January 2018 for our special Transcription Tuesday Run – a race to Participate, Transcribe and Discover! The Transcription Tuesday Run is a 24 hour event. Everybody who is registered to Transcribathon can participate on Tuesday 23 January from 00:00 to 23:59 GMT(from 01:00 to 00:59 CET ).

Feel free to register now. You can already start preparing yourself by browsing through the stories and by checking out our tutorial. We are looking foward to see you here soon!
