My Own Darling,

  I wonder how you are 

getting on now. It is six o'clock and

the day's work over except for a talk by

the C.O. after dinner. My men were 

bathing this morning and then we

were inspected by the C.O. just so that

he could let us know how he

wanted things doing and also as

a preparation for an inspection by the

Corps Commander to-morrow. I shall

have to get up earlier to-morrow than

I have been doing lately. Still I think 

we ought to make a good show. I 

dined with 'C' Company last night.

The C.O. Fox & I were guests & the others

were some of our new officers. The 

subalterns had gone out to

dine elsewhere. We had a good

dinner and sat talking about the
