It seems very sad that the

old people go but when we know

there was no chance of recovering

it seems a mercy when they leave

us without suffering. I am sure

it will be a great shock to

Granny but they say she is

bearing up well. He died on

Sunday the 13th after being taken

ill on Wednesday.

I am glad my letters are

coming more quickly - hope they will

keep it up. It has been a

long year Sweetheart but

think how quickly the time will

pass after the war. Tell Ma

I don't put anything in my letters

- just talk. Glad to hear you

are all right. Nell did not

say you were otherwise she
