He began to talk about the Battalion

falling off whilst he had been

away & then touched on many points.

I sat & listened for some time but

thinking it was time someone made

a remark I tackled him on a few

of his points & he climbed down

at once. He tried to get away from

the point but I stuck to it & brought

him back. He finished off as mild

as possible. After the meeting I

asked him to send my name in for

a course that had come through.

I know I shall not get it but

I meant my name to go in. He

had previously told Fox that he

wouldn't let me go. After

saying that he knew nothing of the

course he had it brought to his

memory - promised to send my name

in for this course & as I said I

 right page

was very keen on getting out of the

Brigade - for anything else that

turned up. I expect you will

find I shall be sent away some

day as a ----- nuisance - but I

don't care so long as I do get away.

I am very fit very well & quite comfortable.

My own Mess in some ways is better

than the HdQrs & if we had only a

decent C.O. I might want to stay with

the Bn. for a long time. I know I
shall feel very sorry when I do
leave them after being part of the
Battalion for three years.
It is dinner time so I think
I must stop Sweetheart. I hope
you & Kenneth are both having a
good time. May all happiness
wait upon you. I love you
Darling & am all yours. My
thoughts come to you & I want to come to
