My Own Darling,

I was glad to get your

letter of the 9th when I arrived

here to-night. We expect we

are back for four days. We

are all in huts & they are

certainly more comfortable

than a trench.

I am sure the Rev. J. Todd

would be a great comfort

to you all.

  Yes Darling I know it

is the first real break in

the family & I know what

a tremendous loss it is

to every one of you. Dad

was the best friend of

so many and his absence

is very very hard to

realise. I am pleased

to hear that Mother is
