My Own Darling,

  I don't know how many

letters I have written so will call this

No. 11. At present I am sitting in a tent

in a wood. It is freezing but we are

protected from the wind. My stove got

lost yesterday when we moved & we

nearly blinded & choked ourselves

last night by burning a brazier of

green wood in the tent last night

to sleep warm. We left our old place

in the morning, got held up by

traffic at a village & were waiting

by the wayside for the time to

pass through. Unfortunately a Boche

plane came over & dropped a few

bombs. The Padre was wounded in

the leg & foot and a few other
