My Own Darling Wife,

       I was delighted to receive your

letter No 1 this afternoon. Sorry the day

seemed long and I hope that by

your receive this time will be

passing pleasantly. We are having

a good time. We moved again

at 4:30 last night and did a

march in the dark for a change.

The men sang most of the way &

seemed to enjoy the walk in

spite of their packs &c. Soon after

we arrived in this village

we had a good dinner & then

Twas not long before I retired

to bed. Got another comfy one

too. We may move again at 

any time and so letters may be

few and there may be gaps

between them but don't worry for

there is much less danger this

way I believe and the show
