My Own Darling,

  Many thanks for No. 47 & 48

received yesterday & the day before.

Owing to our coming out of the line

I didn't get a chance of posting a

letter yesterday. I came out early

in the morning and walked back

to see that the camp was all

ready for us. It was a lovely day

& I might have really enjoyed

the walk if it hadn't been so

far in a trench & walking

on duck boards. It was seven am

this morning when we were all

settled in so you see we

didn't have a very restful

night. Though I shall go to bed

early to-night. This is just a

note Sweetheart to say that I

love you & want you & to remind

you that there are not very

many days to go before I shall

be allowed to come on leave.

Won't it be lovely. I'll write

a letter either to-night or in the

morning. May all happiness

be with you. Tell Kenneth

Daddy sends him lots of love
