shall have brought the war

to a victorious close so that

all people may live at peace.

Self will creep in of course

& by people I chiefly mean

you & I. I don't think I said Ta for

No 44 received yesterday & 45 arrived

to-day. Yes the mud is pretty bad

but we get through it somehow.

By the time you get this we shall

have been into the line & I hope

be out again as this time we

only have a four days tour. Yes I

hear that Knox is going along

favourably at Seafield War Hospital

Leith. Edinborough. I can understand

my letters taking varying times to get

over lately but I hope they will

be more regular now that we

have settled down for a few days.
