camp was perched on the slope

of a famous ridge, consisted of

little tin huts & dugouts & we

waded through much mud

into it after leaving the road.

Dean & I made ourselves comfortable

in a small shed for the night.

We are in brigade reserve & may

not go into the front line for

this half tour though we should

get into the line first on the

next tour in the other section.

On Sunday we moved again to

another camp - newer & nearer to

the road. The weather has turned

very cold but we have found

some stoves & hope to get

our hut warm to-day.

  I love you Sweetheart mine

Love you & want you very
