see them myself. To-morrow we march

about four miles - the next day we march

and after that - well - we march again

but I don't know whether it is on the

same day or the next. If we would march

farther we must first persuade the Boche

that we have a "right of way."

And now Sweetheart mine this letter

will probably reach you about the

time of your birthday so besides conveying

my love it must also bring my

birthday greetings to you. May you have

a happy birthday my Beloved & may

this year that is beginning be full

of joy & happiness for you. May life

hold many blessings in store for

you & day by day may life be

such that you are content &

happy. I would that I could spend

the day with you so that I

might tell you how dear you are

to me, how much I love you &

how much I desire your happiness.

I am happy in your love. May we soon
