stream - a noise & a sensation like

nothing else on earth. Yet I believe

that everyone would say that

the chief horror was comprised of

"water - mud & discomfort." Curious

individuals soldiers. Glad to hear

good news of Will & his family. I

like to receive your letters & often

when you say you have no news

you write such a lovely letter. Glad

to hear that you are A1 and I trust

you will keep so. I also am very

fit & well and at present in comparative

safety. I cannot tell you of our

doings at present - all in good time

Unfortunately I am not allowed to be with

the Bn for a few days. Everyone is very

fit & the men are perfectly splendid.

One always has to obey orders and grumbling

is not permitted. I had a letter from

Monson to-day. He likes his new job

& finds it a very comfy show. Please

give my love to all & tell them I hope
