My Own Darling Wife,

  I must make an effort to

answer 27 & 28. Sorry letters are taking such

a long time to come but perhaps they will

get better soon. Most of yours take four or

five days to get here I think. Glad to

see you are "doing your bit" by helping 

to gather the harvest. Think I would like

to help for a change also. Kenneth

gave you good advice re holding of horse.

Fancy his saying that though. I am

glad he is having a good time & 

keeping so fit. I expect he will miss

Marie. Yes I should have liked to have

seen him put his arms round your

neck & call you his dear Mammy 

- but one can never tell I may be

able to come over some day & see him

do it. I believe both Howard & Clarke

are going on all right. Don't think

Phillips will be out for a few months

even if he doesn't get the course. Baines
