My Own Darling Wife,

  Early morning parade, ride

in motor lorry to see a large sand

map of the area - lunch at quite a 

nice estaminet - joy ride in a tank

& lorry back for tea comprises my

day's work. Your letter was waiting

for me when I got back (No 21) & also

a Journal. Am glad you had a 

good journey even though you

had to start so late. Kenneth

evidently enjoyed the journey & 

probably the Col did as well.

I wouldn't have minded changing

places with him! Yes I am sure

Dad would be very pleased

to see you & I do hope that

your being there will be a
