My Own Darling Wife,

  I was glad to get

your letter of the 19th & also the

parcel of books which arrived

safely. I had not read any of

them ta. This morning I turned

out at 8:30 & after breakfast

rode round on Sally to see the

companies at work. The CO had

gone off for the day so I

took Monson round with me

& we went off for a joy ride

across country when I had seen

enough. At 3 pm a car is

coming for me & I am going

into the town (where I have been

before) to have dinner with the

C.O. It will be a pleasant change

after hospital diet. The Grantham

Journal arrived as well Ta.
