My Own Beloved,

  Ta for your letter of

the 18th No 11 received this

morning. We went out for

a route march this morning

- about nine miles - & the

letter & parcel came just

after we got back. Ta for

the clothes - they look very

nice. The cake will be

lovely for tea to-day. It

is a long time since I

saw a cake. I think the

last one must have been

the one we had home.

Holmes returned this morning

& he looks very much better

than I had seen him for some

time before he went away.

  Nobby has arrived in England

- at Oxford so you see he

was much worse than I was.
