wrote just an ordinary letter

news of the farm, markets, &c.

Probably he thought I was lively

so he told me about the partridge.

Yes ta you might send the Journal

when you have read it. There 

are occasionally little items of

news that are interesting. It is

wonderful to hear what a lot

leave keeps going I may be 

lucky enough to get home

soon after the CO returns & then -

  Your letter of the 11/12 was 

waiting on my table when I got off
