habitable & we shall finish them

much other work to do that the

dug outs had to be left for our

spare time. The trench has

improved out of all recognition

& where the posts are, are just

like show trenches: everything finished

off as nice as possible. Rifle Racks

Ammunition & bomb stores, refuse bags,

&c. have all been constructed.

  This afternoon the G.S.O.I. came 

round & he was delighted with

all that he saw & complemented 

us on the excellent work we

had done during the few days

that we had been in the trenches
