My Own Darling Wife,

We have had another lovely hot

day. It was cool in the dug out though &

now it is very pleasant outside. To-

morrow is Sunday and as usual it is our

moving day. Don't know how long we shall

be out of the line but it seems as if we

may get a fair spell - hope so anyhow.

Yesterday we had a long pow-wow in my

dugout and about 10pm the C.O. came in

to write as HdQrts. were moving to a

larger house & he was homeless for an

hour or two. He brought with him a cutting

from the Times of the 13th. Probably you

will have seen it for it gave

the permanent ranks for our Bn. The order

in which we stand is as follows.

C.O. Major Dean (Capt. Phillips in Eng) (Monson still sick)

Capts Ward, Clarke, Hall, Lieuts Hooper, Fox, Knox &c.

so that of the men actually here I stand
