My Own Darling Marion,

       Many thanks for parcel +

letter received last night. The contents

of the parcel were most useful +

welcome while the letter was just

lovely. We are still having fine

weather although we had a summer

shower yesterday. To-day has been

gloriously warm + sunny. I actually

had a sleep this afternoon.

We hope to run the sports off next

time we get back to rest (!). I had a

talk with the Brigade Major about

them this morning. We (a small

proportion of us ) went a little over

two miles back this morning to a

church Parade when one of my

fellows was presented with a

Military medal. He was wound

the same night as Mendal
