must be doing well + being well looked after.

Yes Sweetheart I think we are both very

proud of our Boy. I wish I were with

you both, but I am thankful that Kenneth

is with you to cheer + comfort you.

Manson has not got back from his

course. He is in hospital somewhere

+ will perhaps roll up some day. Knox is

still going strong. I said ta kindly

for all the good things I received last

night in the note I sent I believe. It is

very good of Flo. Annie's 8 hens seem to

have done very well - think I had better

borrow a couple. Yes I am still keeping

fit & well beloved. I don't think there

is anything I want sending just yet - will

let you know as soon as there is.

Fancy Kenneth being so grown up as to

want to be dressed at 7:30 am. There was

a strong rumour last night that our training

period (which was a promised rest period)

would finish before the end of the week & that

we should find ourselves in the line again

 right side

I think rumour will prove to be true this

time. The change has done us all good but

I could wish it had been for a longer period.

There is a possibility of a certain amount of

leave being allotted to the Division shortly

but there will only be a very small number &

it will take a long time to get round. Still

while there's leave there's hope Lassie. The

parade is put off until to-morrow so I might

have had longer in bed had I known earlier.

We shall be busy giving lectures shortly.

I have been round the company & to HdQrs - there

is still nothing but rumour. Well Darling I

wish I were at home with you. It seems many

ages since we were together - years & years in

some ways. How would you like to be

starting off for Sandsend or Musker once

more. Kenneth must be growing a fine Laddie

- grown almost out of knowledge I should say.

Wonder what he will think of his Daddy when

I get back. He must interest you most

of the day. I am glad he is so good &

cheerful - doing his duty nobly during the great
