Troops take part it is always put 

to their credit. The only explanation

I can think of is that it is to keep 

getting recruits for them. They have

all done wonderful work & I don't 

want you to think that the average

Tommy minds their getting mentioned

in the paper but it would be a 

change to read one day in the papers

"Magnificent fight by English Troops."

There was about a fortnight ago some

mention of the work of the Lincolns and

at that time all our battalions in 

France were actually in the front line.

  Yes I am sure you will be

glad to get settled in our home

again and I hope you will have

a real good time there. By the 

time you get this Kenneth will

have had his birthday & I hope he
