My Own Darling Wife,

  Ta for your letter of the

10th received last night. There had 

been no mail for three days & now

I think there is still a good lot

hung up. I got one from Lucy

also and one from the bank to

say that Field Allce allowance? had been 

credited to the account £ 17-6-6

That is up to 24th May. There was

lots of love & news in your "love note"

& it did me good to receive it.

  The weather still leaves a lot to be

desired but the sun gives us short 

periods of hope. Parcel has not arrived 

to-day but expect I'll get it when

we come to rest in a day or two. The

socks were very useful although they

were not what I thought I wanted

at the time. You might send 

another pair in the next parcel.
