get soon makes holes. The soup
potted meat & tongue will make a
nice change. Ta muchly for the
book & battery. You might send a
bulb for lamp next time as I have
broken two & we are miles from a
canteen now. Oxo of course is always
useful & once or twice lately we
have had an issue. Our only
shortage in rations is bread & for
that we get biscuits, rich, figs &etc
& you see figs, butter & marmalade
is hardly the same as the toast
butter & marmalade we used to
have. The rations are really excellent
& plentiful but everyone seems to
miss the bread. I wonder if you
could get me an acetylene lamp

burn in a tent or dug out. I
also want a kettle if you can
get a compact one that will
hold a quart or more.
Think I shall want some
under clothes too when the weather
