corrugated iron and is supported by two old

railway tracks which rest on two opposite

walls. For my bed I have three wooden

planks, fixed up along one wall, about three

feet from the ground. My companion has

a similar contraption along the opposite

wall. At the back of the dug-out and

between the two beds we have a cosy little

fire. On this fire I make cocoa three

or four times a day. I have already broken

in on my second quarter lb. We also buy

butter and make toast for tea and supper

The other night I invited H. Dinnage

and three other fellows to supper. The

supper was a cold one of roast chicken

and they all voted it was the best feed

they had since they left England. The only

draw-back to this dug-out of mine is

that it is  a long way from the water
