My Dear Annie

                                I have just received

your letter and was delighted to hear from

you. like you too Annie I sometimes can

hardly believe my darling is dead and I

had such plans made for going home

I suppose we ought to be happy as

I have already written you on the 1st of

this month and I'm hoping you can

see your way to agree to my proposal

You  may be sure Annie my Baby will

be alright should anything happen to

me. She is a dear legacy from my wife

and will always be doubly dear to me

I shall have to be Father and Mother to

her so that when my time comes I can

go with joy in my heart. Annie if
