when we were getting near

England. It was very foggy

one night + fog horns were

blowing all night + next

morning the ships had drifted

away from each other + we

could only see one. Sept 4th

Today as been a fine day +

very interesting . We were met

this morning by two observation

balloons + at least 40 destroyers

It would be like suicide

for a submerine commander

to show himself amongst this

bunch of destroyers. They sail

around  all about the + between

the ships . The Scotchish coast

+ the Irish coast can be seen

clearly + I feel happy + content

to think I am sailing home
