Having completed the

setting of seed potatoes it

was now necessary that 

they be earthed up, after 

many anxious hours the 

task was done, we had some 

volunteers who came fairly regularly

and others once or twice

and then we never saw them

any more. Why, it is beyond me

they stopped away altogether.

If we had all done the same

the Plot would have been a

ghastly failure. We now had

a few minutes to reflect and
