events of biography, of literature,

let us omit no opportunity

to strike a telling blow

at war. Let us not think

that the present conflict has shown

the futility of arbitration

courts. This war may retard

the establishment of an international

court or it may advance

it. No one dare prophesy today

which it will be. But at any

rate, let is maintain our

faith that ultimately war will

give way to arbitration because

it is right and just. If some

cynical reactionary sneeringly

points to the Great War as a

proof of the collapse of the

international peace movement,

keep your temper and say to

him, "Only postponed."
