Human brotherhood needed. Austria's demands

too severe - If the people of Austria were not too

warlike, the good would not have made such

violent appeal. If peace sentiments prevailed

in Austria as in U.S. no such

ultimatum would have been sent.

Hague treaties. If Austria + Serbia had

an general arbitration treaty

this would be settled by diplomacy

People not cry war but peace -

Cannot expect war to cease until world is

a democracy.-                 Aug.6.1914
