afternoon holiday. In the

evening went with J Frase

+ F Western to Carency +

Souchez saw over batteries

in action for the first time

alsou saw German shells

bursting on Vimy ridge

Friday June 15 Received two letters

from M. sent one back in reply

Very hot day + was fortunate

we had nothing much to do We

removed camp to filed above

took shirt + 1 pair of socks to wash

Saturday June 16 Had the

morning off + sent a letter

to Mc Kitchen We built a

new wash house

Sunday June 17. On Fire picquet

duty until 6 pm Went to  evening

service
