Left side

near dinner time. The rest

of the men have moved

to another position &

a Lance Corporal & myself

along with others. Six men

are left here & don't know

what to do. we are

waiting to see if they

will send for us.

(terribly dark at nights)

They sent for us all right

had just made a nice place

to sleep in for night when

we got orders to move back

as it was a terribly hot

place was not sorry. A sniper

kept popping at me from

somewhere. On the march

shells were dropping all

Right side

round us (Thursday March 12)

& there were some casualities

my Section leader was

hit in the leg, and

several pieces hit my

helmet. The firing was

so hot we stopped in some

dug outs all night and all

day Friday. A chap has just

been wounded in the shoulder

he was standing at the

entrance. We have just been

warned for a long march to

night. 10 past 6 Artillery just

made our chaps fly.

Will has been officers

servant for 3 days. I have

hardly seen him. He has

just gone to transport
