Navy Separation Allowance to a dependant cannot exceed the

scale for a wife. Within the maximum of the rate payable to a wife, the

allowance to be awarded to a dependant of an active service  reservist  rating will equal

half the amount of the dependence that existed prior to the war (or prior

to the man's entry into H.M.Service, if later), always provided the seaman

continues to allot a sum equal in amount to this dependence. If he allots a

smaller sum, the allowance will be proportionately reduced, but if he is

able to allot more, the allowance will remain unaltered.

The Local Old Age Pension Authorities investigate and report as

to the amount of the dependence.

Note to Representatives of the Soldiers and Sailors Families

Association

Navy Separation Allowance to dependants is dealt with in paragraph

12 of the Association's Circular, War No. 6.
