At midnight relieved Staunch she went to Port Said

Nov 6th   At 8am we closed Grafton and gave her service correspondence from Port said.  Turks opened fire at us at a range of about 3 miles and made some good shots.  we then returned to the beach bu Johnny was waiting for us and gave us a warm reception paid his back a few but had to back out for the time returned again suppled him with a few more pills.  Our troops are going to advance tomorrow morning attacking Rafa Belah Ridge. Some more sport in store. We took up our position  on Flank at 6pm and burnt our moon  ... boxes .

Nov 7th   At 3am our troops commenced the advance.  Turks were reported evacuating Gaza.  We will advance up River Waddi --- to catch them on their way across.  Our Cavalry on the go making charges along the beach.  By 10am our troops were advanced as far as Wadi Heroi.  We opened fire on enemy up Wadi Heroi then changed our fire on to his  ... hangouts. Fine sport this watching them fall over.  Ceased fire at 12:15pm opened fire again at 1pm on enemies troops our cavalry and infantry are chasing them to the beach and we are finishing them off hundreds of dead on the sands.  Remained off Wadi Heroi for the night.

Nov 8th   At dawn we proceeded up to Arkalon and gave them a few rounds in their trenches.  At 8am Turkish troops evacuated Askalon so we returned to Wadi Heroi.  Enemy are shelling our troops and ---- on the beach, we opened fire on enemy and by all accounts he didn't like our stuff.  At 9:30am we received the signal from shore. Cease fire you have silenced enemy's artillery.  At 10am we spotted half of Turkey returning along a roadway so we opened up on them to save them the trouble of going any further.  Ceased firing at 11am.  Opened fire again 11:30am on transports.  Aparently enemy has had enough of naval guns he is retreating ---  we went up to Askalon during the afternoon as there was some enemy troops to tired to shift so we shifted them  a few remained living and they retreated over the mountains.  Our Cavalary advanced along the beach as far as Askalon.  At 5:30pm  Turks attacked our troops from north of Askalon they came down in ---  last of it along the beach let them all collect and ---   5:45pm we opned fire on them what remained
