In the train

1 am

My dear Muriel,

I have just passed

thro' York, + seen (by moonlight)

all the old Dringhouses

landmarks; the shop cars at

Bishopthorpe etc! I was suprised

when they took us via Thirsk.

If I had known, i would have

wired them at home, but I

naturally thought it would

be via Leeds. Can you read

this, my own? The train is

shaking abominably. We had

tea + a pie at the station

but in the carriages -

platform 14. We do not

change, I understand,
